Adoboli was defeated in a no-confidence vote in the National Assembly on 24 August2000;[3][4] 57 deputies voted in favor of the no-confidence motion, one against it, and two abstained.[4] On 27 August, Adoboli resigned and Eyadéma accepted his resignation;[3][5] Eyadéma appointed Agbéyomé Kodjo to replace Adoboli on 29 August.[6][7]
