Ernest, Duke of York and Albany (Ernest Augustus 7 September 167414 August 1728) was the youngest son of Ernest Augustus, Elector of Hanover and Sophia of the Palatinate and a younger brother of George I of Great Britain.

Ernest was Prince-Bishop of Osnabrück from 1715 to 1728. On 3 July 1716 he was created a Knight of the Garter and two days later was created Duke of York and Albany and Earl of Ulster.
