Elmo is an unincorporated community located on U.S. Highway 80 in Kaufman County, Texas, United States. The area was first settled in the 1870s, and its population peaked at approximately 900 in the 1880s.^[1]

Elmo Texas was the longtime home of well known North Texas blues musician Henry Qualls.^[2][3]
