Deerfoot Trail is a freeway section of Highway 2 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Formerly known as Blackfoot Trail Freeway, it is known for its high rate of collisions and excessive speeding.

There have been 10,000 collisions on Deerfoot Trail in the past five years, including 24 fatalities, according to the city of Calgary.^[1]

The Deerfoot stretches nearly 50 kilometres (30 mi) from Country Hills Boulevard in the north to its terminus at Highway 2 near Okotoks. The posted speed limit is 100 km/h (62 mph) but speeds upwards of 130 km/h (80 mph) are not uncommon. The busiest stretch of road is between Memorial Drive and 16 Avenue NE (Trans-Canada Highway). The majority of the roadway is 6 lanes in total width, but there are a number of 4, 8 and 10 lane sections.

In the fall of 2005, the last set of traffic signals was removed from Douglasdale Boulevard in southeast Calgary and replaced with a parclo interchange, rendering the road a freeway for its entire journey through the city of Calgary.

The road is maintained by Carmacks Enterprises from the northern city limits down to the Macleod Trail merger.
