Clarity is the third album by Jimmy Eat World. Starting with this album Jim Adkins began to sing most of the songs on this and subsequent Jimmy Eat World records, as opposed to Tom Linton. As with their previous release, Static Prevails, this album was produced by both Mark Trombino and Jimmy Eat World themselves. It, along with Static Prevails, was re-released in 2007 in remastered form with bonus tracks.
"Lucky Denver Mint" is featured on the soundtrack of Never Been Kissed.
The Something Corporate song Konstantine references "For Me This Is Heaven" with the lyric, "It's to Jimmy Eat World and those nights in my car, where the first star you see may not be a star, I'm not your star."
The song "Goodbye Sky Harbor" is written based on the John Irving novel, A Prayer for Owen Meany.
The The Wonder Years (band) song "Solo And Chewy: Holdin' It Down" references "Goodbye Sky Harbor" with the lyric, "Because we're stealing form gas station and talking about how, Arizona's airport is called Sky Harbor. I wonder if that's what the last song on Clarity's about."
