Chase This Light is alternative rock band Jimmy Eat World's sixth studio album, released on October 16, 2007. The album was produced by Butch Vig, whose previous works include Nirvana (Nevermind, Incesticide), The Smashing Pumpkins (Gish, Siamese Dream, Pisces Iscariot), Against Me! (New Wave) and Sonic Youth (Dirty, Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star). The album debuted at number five on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling about 62,000 copies in its first week.[1] It also sold 78,000 worldwide. As of January 26, 2008, the album has sold 164,000 copies in the US.[2] As of mid-2008, the album has sold 308,000 copies worldwide. Several songs from the album, including "Big Casino", "Feeling Lucky" and "Always Be", are featured as part of ESPN's college basketball intro/outro theme music.
Track informationThe song "Carry You" originated as a track from Jim Adkins' side project Go Big Casino. Jimmy Eat World has recorded other Go Big Casino songs previously like "Hear You Me", "My Sundown", and "12.23.95". "Big Casino", the first single from the album, was released September 24 for radio airplay. "Always Be", began airing on various radio channels on December 3, 2007, and the video premiered at Total Request Live on January 30. "Let It Happen", was recently added to allaccess.com' Alternative 'cool new music' chart, thus having possibility of being the third single, but it's not confirmed yet. Track listing
