Bunmei gannen(文明元年,Bunmei gannen?); 1469: The era name was changed to mark an event or a number of events. The old era ended and a new one commenced in Ōnin 3.
Events of the Bunmei era
Bunmei 2, in the 7th month (1468): Ichijo Kaneyoshi was relieved of his duties as "kampaku," Kaneyoshi age was 69.[2]
Bunmei 3, in the 12th month (January 18, 1469): The former-Emperor Go-Hanazono died at age 52.[2]
Bunmei 5, on the 19th day of the 3rd month (1473): Yamana Mochitoyo-nudo Souzen died at age 70.[3]
