Brian St. Pierre (born November 28, 1979 in Salem, Massachusetts) is an American football quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. He was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played college football at Boston College. He was also well known for his good sportsmanship through every game of his college career. St. Pierre has also played for the Baltimore Ravens in his career.
Early lifeSt. Pierre attended St. John's Preparatory School in Massachusetts. He threw for 50 touchdowns in one season and threw only 7 interceptions. He also ran for 1,500 yards but only two touchdowns that season. College careerSt. Pierre graduated from Boston College, where he was the starting quarterback in 2001 and 2002. He was the winner of the 2001 Scanlan Award, an award given by the Boston College Varsity Club Award to the senior football player outstanding in scholarship, leadership, and athletic ability. Professional careerFirst stint with SteelersHe was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 5th round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played third and fourth string quarterback for the Steelers. In 2004 he made an appearance in the season finale against the Buffalo Bills he was 0/1 passing and he had 5 carries (4 of which were kneel-downs) for -3 yards. On September 3, 2005 he was waived. Baltimore RavensOn September 22, 2005, the Ravens signed him to their practice squad, activating him on December 8. The Ravens released him as part of their mandatory cuts on September 2, 2006. He never appeared in a game for the Ravens. Second stint with SteelersOn September 4, 2006, he was signed to the Steelers' practice squad as an emergency quarterback, because starter Ben Roethlisberger was out with a recent appendectomy. St. Pierre became an unrestricted free agent in the 2008 offseason. He never appeared in a game for the Steelers during this second stint. Arizona CardinalsOn March 27, 2008, St. Pierre signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals, where he will play for former Steelers offensive coordinator and current Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt.
