Boundaries

In time for the next United Kingdom general election the seat of Billericay is to effectively merge with Basildon to form a new seat of Basildon and Billericay. Billericay has a history of electing somewhat colourful characters to Westminster, namely Harvey Proctor, the rightwing MP who resigned after gay sex charges, and Mrs Teresa Gorman, Maastricht rebel who stood down after accusing the Commons Standards and Privileges committee of sexism over questions surrounding her registered business dealings.

The current wards are Billericay East, Billericay West, Burstead, Crouch, Laindon Park, Pitsea North West, Pitsea South East, Vange, Wickford Castledon, Wickford North and Wickford Park.1
