Bar Refaeli (Hebrew: בר רפאלי, born June 4, 1985) is an Israeli model, known for her modeling work and for her relationship with actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

Biography
Early life
Refaeli was born in 1985 in Hod HaSharon, Israel, where her parents, Tsipi and Rafi own a horse ranch. She began a modeling career at the age of eight months, appearing in commercials. She had to wear braces in her early years, postponing her modeling. At the age of fifteen, Refaeli returned to modeling where she was represented by Irene Marie Models.
Career
Refaeli began her modeling career before the age of one.[1] By the age of fifteen she was featured in campaigns for the fashion brands Castro and Pilpel, also starring in a commercial for Milki. Refaeli won the title "Model of The Year" in a beauty contest in 2000 and 2001. She was also chosen to be the home model of Renuar fashion network and appeared in their summer 2002 and winter 2003 catalogues.
She was cast for fashion production abroad, among them Dim, and appeared in the French ELLE magazine, as well as being the first Israeli model to be featured in Sports Illustrated magazine. The same picture was later published on the cover of Maxim. She appeared on the cover of the March 2006 issue of GQ Italy among many others. She appeared in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue 2007 where she posed with the band Aerosmith and appeared in the issue of 2008 where she was photographed in her native Israel in Caesarea and Dead Sea photos shoots.[2]. She also appeared in a September 2007 Paris-Match issue where she was interviewed by reporter Caroline Mangez. The six-page article had many pictures and an interview about Refaeli's life in Israel, her family and her work. She also appeared on the cover of Tatler magazine for the October 2007 issue.
British men's magazine Arena named Refaeli The Best Body of 2008 in its February 2008 issue. She is the new Spring/Summer 2008 face of Accessorize and is the spokesperson for internationally renowned fashion brand - Luisa Cerano in Fall/Winter 2007 as well as Spring/Summer 2008.[3] She has modeled for Subaru, and is the face of Accessorize and the Brazilian clothing line, Besni[4] as well as the Italian jewelry line Marco Bicego. She is signed to Storm Model Management in London, and 1/One Management in New York City. Bar will be the co-host of a TV special program, called "Tommy Hilfiger Presents Ironic Iconic America," during the first week in October. [5]
Acting career
Bar will star in an English language film named, "Session"[6] directed by Israeli director Haim Bouzaglo. The Motion Picture Session is a psychological thriller written by 5-time Israeli Academy award-winning director, Haim Bouzaglo and Lisa Mamou that tells the story of a manipulative psychiatrist, Josh Tellman, who becomes obsessed with a new young patient, Eden. In an effort to keep her close by, he secretly realizes her nightmares. Session was filmed in Syracuse and New York in May and June 2007.
Philanthropy
Refaeli volunteers for Project Sunshine,[7] a non-profit organization providing free services and programs for children facing life-threatening illnesses. She also helped the animal lovers association, Ahava,[8] which has been caring for hundreds of pets abandoned in the Northern Israel during the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict.[9]
Bar Rafaeli and film director Shahar Segal have agreed to do a gratis campaign under the slogan "One Bag Less," which was being sponsored by The Council for a Beautiful Israel, Bank Hapoalim and the Shout Internet site.[10]
On March 13, 2008, Bar Refaeli attended “Seeds of Peace” event at Capitale in New York City for youth who come from regions of conflict.[11]
On April 9, 2008, Refaeli attended the Somaly Mam Foundation fundraiser with another supermodel Petra Němcová. The Somaly Mam Foundation is a charity foundation set up to help women and children who have been victimized as child sex slaves due to international human trafficking.[12]
