Aulopyge is a genus of cyprinid fish, consisting of a single species. The type species is the dalmatian barbelgudgeon, Aulopyge huegelii. The name is derived from the Greek word aulos, meaning "flute", and the Greek word pyge, meaning "tail". The female of Aulopyge huegeli deposits her 1.5 - 2mm eggs in rock and gravel fissures with a special ovipositor[1] References
