In the summer of 1969, Terry Flood, Donald Tarlton (Donald K. Donald), Bob Lemm, Jack Lazare and Daniel Lazare began the independent label, signing legendary rockers April Wine in the early 70s and then Montreal heartthrob Corey Hart in the 80s.
In the 1990s, the label expanded its roster with the addition of Sass Jordan and the creation of a Francophone sister label, Tacca Musique, to increase its comprehensiveness in the Canadian music scene. By the end of the twentieth century, Aquarius signed up-and-comers Serial Joe, local favourites Rubberman and Sum 41 (Canada only), one of the country's biggest and most successful pop punk bands to date.
