High School and JuniorsAndy played for St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. Later he served one full season and a partial season with the Cleveland Jr. Barons and a partial season with the St. Louis Sting, both of the North American Hockey League[1]. He then played one season with the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League. While with the Musketeers, he lead the team to win Clark Cup (playoff champions) while earning playoff MVP honors.[2] CollegeAndy played three seasons at Mercyhurst College where he won an Atlantic Hockey title[3] and participated in the NCAA tournament.[2] ProfessionalAndy signed his first professional contract with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL. He played two seasons in Wheeling, being named to the 2006 ECHL all-star team [4] and to the all-rookie team[5]. In his third professional season, Andy played with the Youngstown Steelhounds of the Central Hockey League; however, he earned a call-up to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League [1]. In addition, he was named a starter for the Northern Conference all-star team team in the Central Hockey League All-Star Game.[6] References
