The minor district (King Amphoe) was established on January 1 1988, when the four tambon Pha Khao, Tha Chang Khlong, Non Po Daeng and Non Pa Sang were split off from Phu Kradueng.1 It was upgraded to a full district on November 3 1993.2
Administration
The district is subdivided into 5 subdistricts (tambon), which are further subdivided into 64 villages (muban). There are no municipal (thesaban) areas, and 5 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
