Alfred Israel Pringsheim (September 2, 1850 – June 25, 1941) was a German mathematician and artist. He was born in Ohlau, Prussian Silesia (now Oława, Poland) and died in Zürich, Switzerland. He was a student of Weierstrass, his mathematical work was in the area of real analysis. Alfred married Hedwig Dohm, who was an actress in Berlin before their wedding. Together they had four sons and a daughter, including the twins Klaus Pringsheim and Katharina "Katia" Pringsheim (the wife of Thomas Mann). Pringsheim was Jewish. See alsoExternal links
