On 3 June 1978, Lady Hasluck was appointed the first of only two Dames of the Order of Australia for "services to Australian letters". She died in 1993.
Alexandra Hasluck's published works included talks to the Royal West Australian Historical Society as well as books and articles.
Evelyn Hill (1870-1962) was Haslucks' mother - and she presented a memoir about her in an address to St. Catherine's College, University of Western Australia in 1963 after her death.
