Alco is a four member band from Lansing, Michigan. With a countless array of diverse influences, the band strives to transcend simplistic genres to create a unique yet welcoming sound. With their first professional EP “The Anatomy of a Dream” released on October 16th, 2008, Alco is taking the stage to showcase their highly meditated work. The EP was recorded by Chris Wood and mastered with Glenn Brown, who has worked with names such as Eminem, Kid Rock, and Ted Nugent. Alco has played with many bands including Just Surrender, June, Houston Calls, Damiera, The Hard Lessons, Kiros, Blackpool Lights, The Gay Blades, The Reign of Kindo, and Forgive Durden at venues such as The Orbit Room in Grand Rapids, MI, The Temple Club formerly in Lansing, MI, The Riverview Venue in Lansing, MI and Macs Bar in Lansing, MI.

Background

This band was first started with the original members Justin, Shaun, Jeff and Kevin. They began the journey in their high school career. The band was formed first by members Justin Franks and Shaun Spivak, Jeff was the third add. They started and produced one demo under the name Aspyre. Originally Aspire, changed to avoid confusion with other bands. The group later decided that it still didnt fit and changed it to The Vestige. The Vestige however grew old quickly. They changed it for the 4th time and final time to Alco. With the first ep released under this name, they begain to grow. The album " The Anatomy of a Dream" can be found at itunes, amazon, Rhapsody, CD baby and many more. The group currently lives together in holt, michigan.
