Aberdeen Asset Management plc (LSE: ADN) is an international investment management group, managing assets for both institutions and private individuals from offices around the world. It is based in Aberdeen, Scotland. The company is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.

History

The company was established in 1983 by way of a management buy-out.1 It was first listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1991. 1 in 2000 it acquired Murray Johnstone, another leading investment manager.1

Operations

The Company operates mainly in the United Kingdom but has a growing presences worldwide, particularly Asia, Oceania and the Americas. As of 30 September 2008 it had funds under management of £111.1 billion.2
