Ayatollah Abbas Vaez Tabasi (Persian: آيت الله عباس واعظ طبسی ) is an influential member of the Expediency Discernment Council and the Assembly of Experts of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Furthermore, Vaez-Tabasi is the head of the Imam Reza Shrine Foundation which runs "auto plants, agricultural businesses, and many other enterprises, and it is worth an estimated $15 billion."1 This gives him the nickname of Sultan of Khorasan2, and his son Naser the Heir to the throne of Khorasan in Iran.3 He was elected to the Assembly of Experts in the 2006 Assembly of Experts elections. 4 he somehow managed to get elected.5 References and notesExternal links
