Aaron Loves Angela is about two teens living in the slums of New York City, and they're deeply in love with each other. Angela (Irene Cara), who is Puerto Rican, falls in love with Aaron (Kevin Hooks), who is black. Their relationship is not approved by either of their parents. They both rebel against their parents' prejudices, but soon find out that their friends and neighbors share the same prejudices as their parents.
Billboard Rating & Review (7/17/1976): Pick: Superb album strikes a perfect balance between Latin rock, strongly rhythmic numbers, beautiful pop ballads and even a reggae-tinged cut. Album arranged, written and produced by Jose and Janna Merlyn Feliciano, with musical backup from such heavyweights as Tom Scott, Willie Bobo, Chuck Findley and David Paich. Best cuts: "Angela," "Nirvana (Parts 1 and 2)," "Michaelangelo," "As Long As I Have You." Dealers: Feliciano has frequent television exposure, not to mention the weekly airing of his "Chico And The Man" theme.]
