The 2001 FIA GT Championship season was the 5th season of FIA GT Championship. It was a series open to Grand Touring cars broken into two classes based on power and manufacturer involvement, called GT and N-GT. It began on March 31, 2001 and ended on October 21, 2001 after 11 races.
Points are awarded to the top 6 finishers in the order of 10-6-4-3-2-1 except at the Spa 24 Hours except at the Spa 24 Hours, where double points were awarded.
GT Standings
The GT Drivers Championship was awarded jointly to Christoiphe Bouchut and Jean-Philippe Belloc who shared the wheel of the No 7 Chrysler Viper GTS-R entered by the "Larbre Competition - Chereau" team.
N-GT Standings
The N-GT Drivers Championship was awarded jointly to Christian Pescatori and David Terrien who drove the No 62 Ferrari 360 Modena entered by "JMB Racing".
Teams Championship
Points are awarded to the top 6 finishers in the order of 10-6-4-3-2-1 except at the Spa 24 Hours except at the Spa 24 Hours, where double points were awarded. Both cars score points towards the championship regardless of finishing position.
† - JMB Competition won the N-GT Championship due to the tie-breaker of most race wins during the season. JMB Competition won five races compared to RWS Motorsport's two wins.
