- March 4 - The United States presidential inauguration is broadcast on the radio for the first time with Calvin Coolidge taking the oath of office.

- July 7 – Wally Phillips, (d. 2008), American radio personality best known for hosting WGN's morning radio show from Chicago for 21 years.
- September 28 – Jerry Clower (d. 1998), country comedian best known for his stories of the rural South, appeared on WSM in Nashville, Tennessee.
